In July, we released new ParentsWeb/FacultyWeb login pages and upgraded both FacultyWeb and ParentsWeb to support our new login methodology. Additionally, our new desktop application supports this new login upgrade. This new login methodology was released as part of an overall security procedure update.

To log in successfully:

1. Go to www.RenWeb.com and hover over LOGINS in the upper right hand corner.
2. Click ParentsWeb Login or FacultyWeb Login.
3. Type in your school's District Code. (If you do not know your school's District Code, please contact your school.)
4. Type in your User Name and Password. All users had their user name initially set to their email address.  Passwords have not changed.

Troubleshooting/FAQs:

• Your school must have your email address in RenWeb in order for you to log in. Double check with your school if you are unsure that they have an email address on file for you.
• If you are having problems logging in, click the Forgot Username/Password link. You will be prompted to enter your District Code and your e-mail address. Don't forget to use the e-mail address your school has on file.
• Passwords are now case sensitive! Check to be sure you are entering the proper case when typing in your password.
• With this security upgrade, RenWeb will no longer store passwords in a viewable form in the database. Parents who forget their password can request to receive an email that will allow them to modify their password. There will be no ability for either the school or RenWeb support to view a parent's or staff's password. Faculty who forget their password will be required to go through a school administrator in order to change it. No faculty will be allowed to use the Forgot Password or Create User Account options on the ParentsWeb login screen.
• The user's password within the system has not changed except for faculty who are also parents. In the case of faculty who are also parents, they will keep the password used to log into RenWeb (Desktop and FacultyWeb access) and will use that same password to access ParentsWeb.

Rick Newberry, President of Enrollment Catalyst, recently featured RenWeb user Indian Rocks Christian School in Largo, FL, as a case study in enrollment growth on his blog.

After consulting with Newberry on several enrollment initiatives, Rick recommended the following to Indian Rocks Christian School Superintendent Dr. Don Mayes:

• Hire a Director of Enrollment and Marketing.
• Develop a focused enrollment and marketing plan.
• Develop a new website. In this case, Indian Rocks Christian School used a Cherry+Company design hosted through School Site's RenWeb-integrated content management system. 

As a result of these new initiatives, Indian Rocks Christian School achieved great results, including a 3% enrollment growth with their enrollment goal exceeded. They also experienced a 3% retention increase and a 50% growth in new students.

The Facebook for Educators Guide reminds educators that students need guidance on how to be respectful and courteous in an online space--especially as social media becomes inseparable from a student's everyday life.

The Guide says that, "Educators we have spoken to told us that developing a culture of compassion within the physical walls of [a] school…sets the expectation for a culture of compassion to be exhibited by students in their online associations outside of school."

Here are three guidelines the Guide suggests for laying down a definition of good digital citizenship for students:

1. Conducting yourself in a civil manner in the online world just like you would be expected to behave in offline world. Universal rules of social conduct apply in both environments.
2. Behaving responsibly and compassionately with your online actions.
3. Watching out for each other in your online community much like you would in your ‘real world’ neighborhood. By doing so, you are promoting a healthy and safe online community.

Q: Where do I go to input transfer credits on a transcript for new students?

A:

1. Go to the student screen.
2. Select the student you need and then click on the Transcript tab at the top of the page.
3. Double click on one of the blank white bars and you will get an edit transcript page to type in. Make sure you put in the name of the school the credit came from and mark it as a transfer credit.
