McCarrell’s Company, High Ground Solutions, to Integrate Products Into #1 Web-Based School Management System
May 30, 2008 - RenWeb School Management Software and Tim McCarrell, education software development icon and visionary founder of Hunter Systems, Inc., today announced a partnership under which McCarrell’s new company, High Ground Solutions, Inc., will integrate its products into RenWeb’s industry-leading web-based school management software.
In the late 1980’s, at the age of 19, McCarrell founded Hunter Systems, one of the first school management software companies dedicated to solutions for faith-based and private schools. Under McCarrell’s leadership, Hunter Systems and its flagship product, School Minder, grew into an industry giant, reaching its peak as the nation’s leading provider of software for faith-based and private schools by the year 2000. At its high point, Hunter Systems was serving nearly 3,000 schools all across America and in more than 20 countries worldwide.
Along with developing School Minder, McCarrell led the founding of EDLINE, Inc., one of the first companies to provide web-based solutions leveraging the Internet to deliver academic and other information from schools to homes.
Shortly after leaving Hunter Systems in 2001, McCarrell founded his current company, High Ground Solutions, Inc., which develops and implements leading-edge communication, rapid alert, messaging, web-based testing, and e-learning solutions for schools (faith-based, private and public), colleges, churches and other organizations worldwide.
RenWeb’s partnership with High Ground Solutions is part of a recently announced new technology strategy that will involve integrating cutting-edge external services into its comprehensive solution through a series of alliances with best-in-class providers.
“Talking with many of my former clients and friends who are still serving in faith-based and private schools today, ‘RenWeb’ was a name I heard time and time again as the company that was the true leader in delivering the most advanced, state-of-the-art, web-based products to help manage faith-based and private schools,” stated McCarrell. “My own evaluation and analysis of the market and RenWeb product confirmed this. I never thought I would get excited about another school management software program, but I am excited about RenWeb — they have done it right!”
Brad Lee, RenWeb’s CEO, said, “Tim McCarrell has always been a leader in using new technologies to develop and offer cutting-edge products and services to private schools. His decision, given his extraordinary track record, to partner with RenWeb underscores our reputation in the market as the leading provider of web-based school administration software. Our alliance with High Ground, as part of our strategy to work with leading technology companies, will further enhance our ability to provide our schools with best-in-class, effective solutions that will make running a school even easier.”
